So I just ordered an Igniter 9140 blank to build.
Meanwhile, I was suggested to also bring a 15' and back up rod (of course, for any trip). So I am looking at second hand offerings.
I saw a Sage Graphite IV 10161 and TCR 10150. Any thoughts about these two rods, and how do they compare?
Haven't found much info about the 10161, but read that the TCR 10150 is a very stiff and demanding rod, which seems the TCR 9140 got more love.....
Are they still up to today standard or I better look at newer offerings such as TCX and One?
I see you are able to build rods yourself so this might interest you? I just received Aventik IM10 14'8" 10/11 blank and after measuring it it seems to be bit shrinked TCR 15' #10. It is painted metallic green so perhaps it is close the TCX?
Aventic CCS: IP364g, AA70, butt 106.0g, 61,9g, 36,2g, tip 13.55g total 218g
TCR 15' CCS: IP395g, AA70, butt 109,5g, 77,8g 35,8g tip 13,77g total 239g
So Aventik 14'8" #10/11 blank has 98% of TCR 15ft #10 blank length, 91% of weight, 92% stiffness and same very fast/tip action of 70 decrees.
