Loomis IMX Pro Short Spey and OPST Commando heads

Anyone have experience casting the shorter OPST heads on the IMX Pro rods?

I don't have any experience with the OPST heads, but can say with the 31111 that Airflo scout heads in 240 and 270 work great.

I have the 4111. I originally put a skagit scout on it and was having trouble blowing my anchor. I tried adjusting my dangle and longer tips. I ended up switching to the SA Spey lite skagit. The head is 1.5 ft longer and it made a big difference to me.

I use the g loomis short spey 5111 quite alot and would echo the comment above about the opst commando for this particular rod. Even with the prescribed small range, tight skagit cast it’s a wee bit prone to blowing an anchor for me with a 10 ft tip. Others experience may be different, but i’ve stuck with either airflo or SA shooting heads for this rod series.
Enjoy the rod....they’re awesome.

I use the 6 and 7 shortspeys exclusively with commando heads. They work great with both 10 and 12 tips.
