Uses of a short belly spey line?

I have an Orvis 7wt short --50' -- belly spey line that I do not remember acquiring and have never used. What are its optimum uses in swinging flies for GL steelhead in SH and DH?

Thanks,
ddb

That sounds like Orvis's Easy Cast, as they sometimes labeled it. I've had two of them. They're a lot like other shortish-midbelly lines like the Rio Windcutter, Airflo Delta, and other brands. If the line size fits your rod, they're easy casting, very useable floating spey lines. They work best on short (even switch) to medium length rods.

I have one of those and use it for floating line work on my CND Solstice 13' 4" rod. Single Spey casts with that rod and line combination are one of my favorite ways to fish.

The times I visited the Muskegon and NY's Salmon river I used a short belly and a 13' rod. In my case the line is/was a Delta Multi-tip 6/7. It is 50 feet (back taper included) and 490 grains. The tips I use are Rio 15 DC - 70 and 80 grain.
