Hand tied leaders

I know if you ask a hundred people you will get a hundred different leader formulas. Here's what Maxima says.

If you look at the length stated for a 12' leader by Maxima, for example, you will find that it tracks with the universal 60% butt, 20% middle, and 20% front formula that is most often recommended.
I suspect that these suggested leaders would function pretty well.

There are some really fantastic threads on here about this topic, including a couple of glowing posts by Bruce Berry on one variation he came up with that actually caused me to seek out #50 maxima chameleon and order it from England on eBay. Nutty I know, but was the only place I could find it available in non-industrial quantities.

Bots, the warehouse type tackle stores carry the big spools behind the counter for loading reels. I've never had one object to spooling me up 50 or 100 yds on a leftover spool and sell it to me at a reasonable/yard cost.
