Hardy Bougle MK IV

PIcked up a my IV and switching the pawls to LHW noticed the springs seem to be weaker than on my Bougle heritage. Anyone know if this is the case and can they be upgraded to a stiffer spring. Thinking about calling Archuletta to see they can be changed. Anyone done this?

I recently ordered "heavy duty springs" for my modern era Hardy 4" Perfect from Archuletta Reel Works. They weren't too difficult to install and definitely increase the drag on the clicker!

Ive taken the springs out of various hardy reels and expanded the upper arms making them stronger. It's somewhat of a detailed process involving heating, drop forging and annealing the springs before re-inserting them in the reel. Much easier to purchase replacements.
