What modern reels do we use?

I have a number or reels which I use regularly - Danielsson HD 11fourteen, Danielsson Control 8thirteen, Danielsson Hi Tec #3 & #4, modern (post 1970's) Hardy Perfects (various), and more recently a bench-made John MacKenzie 3.75" reel.

I have more of these modern reels, but use them less regularly.

I'm interested in what other makes, models & sizes of modern reels others are using, whether regularly, or infrequently, in other words, what reels do others rely on for their fly fishing?

Hardy or Saracione, of course there are others I would rather have but out of my budget, Olson for example. You can't beat reliability of Lamson! Love Lamson designs, I use the exclusively on my SH rods.

Farlex 3 3/4 S-Handle tea kettle on a 7134 7wt and modern Hardy Taupo Perfect on short two-hander. Both very smooth, enjoyable clickers.

I've got a medium collection of Lamsons all the last generation ones: Vanquish, ARX, Litespeed, Speedster, 2 Velocity's, Remix, Konic. All but the konic are salmon-sized for spey and 8wt singles.

I have also two LOOP reels, the speedrunner and an Xact which are nice, but I'm ready to move away from, but would buy their Classic series if I could just find one for a good price!

Only ONE Hardy Marquis Salmon #3, and was ready to pull trigger on those Cascapedia MKIII's this week, but they each sold out from underneath me.

Not much of a clicker guy but I do like the Marquis and would pickup a #1 to compliment the #3. I know, Hardy reels are a slippery slope and I bought that Marquis knowing full-well that I might end up living in the same never-ending quest like I've enjoyed for Lamsons but at the end of the day, I'll trust a Lamson over a clicker that needs servicing and could get sand or ice interference.

I'm thinking about Speycos to replace some Sage and Flextec reels that are holdovers from the previous iteration of my collection, but that's purely an aesthetic consideration.

Yes, I acknowledge that I have a problem, and I'm trying to get help. I assuage my gear lust multiple times a day.

I have kind of gone away from disc and now have a nice collection of the original System reels - in 10 down to 7 - love the sound. I do have a few Ross' and Bauers that still see use

What! no System 11

I'm also a big fan of the SA System dual pawl reels (that actually preceded Hardy's Marquis )

The Sz 7 is one I'm lacking. Had one and sold it thinking I had option on one 'as new' in original box.. but naturally that fell through (smiling)

Pic of my System 10 and spare spool colours. Makes for simple determination of which spool is what.

shotgunner - been looking for an 11. May just break down and get a Salmon 1 or 2. I do have 2 7's with a couple of spare spools - may part with one but likely not at much of my fishing is with light rods on the Klamath and Grande Ronde - have a few of the Anglers Roost 12' in 2/3 and 3/4 plus the 11' 2/3 - the 7 fits nicely on the smaller rods
