Miramichi Salmon Assoc. online auction

This auction (which is trying to make up some funds lost due to virus-caused event cancellations) gets up and running at 5pm Atlantic time tonight. I do have 3 shadow box framings in the auction. Hope some wallets get hurt for Atlantic salmon conservation!

It's a shame they don't have any provision for shipping purchased items--makes it almost impossible for anyone except a local to bid, as anyone not from the area obviously can't pick up or arrange shipping. MSA would raise a lot more money if they made it possible for non-residents to bid. Seems it wouldn't be that hard for volunteers to package items and ship. Is there a reason for this philosophy?

I believe it is only the trips that are restricted to NB residents, and the reason for that is that the borders are closed.

My three items ship from my home in Vermont, so ain't no big deal where you live. If a Canadian or other non-US person buys one of my frames, they will be shipped to MSA headquarters (no duty; non profit) and they will ship to wherever.

Gary

Also: you'll note that for non-trip items, it says shipping (i.e., cost) is the responsibility of the buyer. I don't see how you could have a problem with that. But I've been wrong before.

Gary, of course no problem with shipping expense, and good to know about your items. But I just looked at the auction again, and it says shipping will be the responsibility of the bidder, but then in "Shipping Options" it just says "In Person-Pickup". So I took that to mean you either had to pick it up yourself, or arrange yourself to have someone ship it. Are you saying if you buy an item, they will ship it to you? At the Buyers expense of course. Just trying to clarify.

Yes, they will ship it to you at your expense. LOL, if I have to do it myself. The "in person pickup" shows there is no expense added for shipping.

added to the auction

I added in a Wheatley clip box with 38 salmon flies to the MSA online auction, if anyone is interested. Here's the link to the box:
