Now that Easter is actually over I will share this. Orthodox Christian Easter is actually next Sunday on account of Orthodox Church still using the older Julian calendar. Anyway, even though one distant member of our family is (or maybe WAS now) the archbishop of Sparta, my dad was a committed agnostic about all things religious, and used to love being cheeky about it. On Easter whenever anyone would wish him a happy Easter he would correct them, “heritic Easter”, just to see their brows crease in confusion.
He died a few years back, but that memory still makes be smile and feel a little cheer on every heritic Easter.
