Simms Boot quality ??

I have an older pair of Simms G3 Guide wading boots the ones that have the brass lace hooks
I have had them two years now and they are still in good condition
till last Friday I must have bumped up against a rock and the lower brass hook broke.

X-Mas I got a new pair of Simms G3 Guide wading boots.
so I am going out tomorrow so hey try out the new boots
so looking at them and getting the paper wad out that is stuffed into them I looked
up MADE IN CHINA and the lace hooks on these are made of stamped steel and painted
my wife got me these boots and I just assumed Simms quality and so much for MADE IN THE USA

wow. I didn't think you were new to this, mate.

we live in a vicious circle of supply and demand and how much you're willing to pay for made in the usa.
and that's why it's made in china.

by the by, enjoy the future common cold.
just remember all the money you've saved.

cheers,
shawn

na I just looked at my old g3 boots they to say MADE IN CHINA
that word "Assumed " I do not know how many time that word has bitten me hell u don't even have to say it just think it and it bits you
Simms USA made? not all of it

Patagonia boot Patagonia say they are made by Danner Boots and Danner boots are made in Portland Oregon
but when looking for work boots from Danner boots anything under $225 by Danner are Made in CHINA
so I am wondering if the Patagonia Boots that are made by Danner Boots are USA made or outsourced to CHINA??

Not all. Only the Guide series I think. The rest are made off shore.
