Science irony

Critics say DFO is burying science, guaranteeing extinction of steelhead

Can you see what is possibly wrong, ironic or simply amusing about this headline?

°

Science is not common sense. Much of it is devoted to a systematic documentation of what we do not know and understand.

Ironic or not I think it’s symptomatic of the federal DFO managing salmon and the BC provincial government managing steelhead. There’s no reward for the DFO managers to help the steelhead at the expense of a commercial salmon fishery. Long overdue to have one overall manager for the onchorynchus group and learn the concept of fish value in their thinking.
