Have a great time GR8LAKES on your well deserved upcoming trip. I’m giddy like a schoolgirl for you. Looking forward to a couple pics of the beautiful north. Your upbeat positive vibe will be missed during your absence. Take care and pour a sip for a brother.
It's been 2 years since returning to the fabled waters and I can't say enough how stoked I am right now. I'm just finishing up on the packing, just clothes now. Lines are all cleaned and stretched, reels are freshly lubed and rods are all polished. Need to respect the salar and show them your best. Bottles of 12yr Cardhu, 12yr Doublewood Balvenie and Forty Creek Heritage all wrapped for the road trip along with a new flask. I'll be tying at the salmon camp, not much time or opportunity to have stocked the wallets. This is a rare occurrence since I'm usually busting out with flies for this trip. I'm not worried at all, I have some hunters already in my wallets and besides, looking at the river first gives great inspiration. I have some fly suggestions from some friends here and I will make good on them and tie, toast and swim those efforts in front of the salar.
Where I'm going there is no cell service and very limited internet access.
Wow! That's awesome! I wish I could find a spot like that. I have to turn my phone off whenever I hit the water! The last thing I want is something to distract my enjoyment of rippling waters, the sound of kingfishers teasing each other, or geese heading south.
