USGS Grand Ronde @ Troy Gauge Discontinued

Just saw this on a different rivercentric forum:

"The Discharge and Water Temperature records at this location will potentially be discontinued on Oct. 1, 2019 due to a lapse in funding. We are actively seeking funding to continue operation of this station. If you would like to partner with USGS to continue operation of this station, please contact the USGS by using the "Feedback on this web site" link located at the bottom of this page."

Time to set up a stick gauge and a webcam on that bridge below the narrows.

For giggles I sent them a message; I'm curious to how much funding they require to keep it going. If it's a small enough sum, we could organize some sort of fundraiser.

Happening all over the country. Lost a ton the past few years in Montana. Sooner of later there will be some kind of public safety issue due to these. Hard not to say something political, so I'll just leave it at that.

The system is monitoring our fresh water supply, and also flood status of rivers. I guess that is not important anymore.
