Smile Afternoon Visitor

My wife and I were enjoying a glass of wine on the deck on a lovely afternoon recently, and I happen to have my camera handy...at her request I will add.

Nevertheless a regular visitor showed up and I managed to get this photo happening 6 or 7 fee from where I sat...enjoy!!

Cheers,
George

Afternoon Visitor

Love those little guys. My wife and I also frequently enjoy a glass of wine on the porch in the evening. Caught this one with IPhone.

Gotta love it. The things that surround us in our own backyard never fail to amaze when we take the time to look around.
Great shot of that butterfly...thanks!!!

I back onto some bush and am fortunate enough to see plenty of wildlife. The wife has hummingbird feeders out all season for them. She has even had one come and start licking her nail polished toes(pink). We get a family of deer making their routine trek in and out for the night. They bed down behind me somewhere close by. Last year we had a fox den and suddenly all the rabbits were gone and fur everywhere. The scream from a rabbit can be pretty eerie. One thing I'm considering installing is some bat boxes. Has anyone done this?

I enjoy backyard wildlife, but the deer in my neighborhood are just a bit too friendly. I went out the front door today to find a spike buck blacktail with his front hooves in my wife's flower bed, helping himself to a hosta that was behind another shrub.
