Central VA Practice Access Needed
Well now, this is a real shot in the dark.
My easy to access spey casting practice area on a local river has been shut down because of abuse - out of control litter and parties. The fellow that owns it told me that they were allowing folks in without problems for fishing, and then some folks decided to take advantage of the resource and throw big parties without permission. So, now access is shut down completely. (I tried sweet talking him, and he said that I was "one of the good guys" but he is so fed up that I got shut down immediately.)
I need another Central Virginia place on a river to conveniently test some line / rod combos for an upcoming trip. The mighty James runs right through town, but so far I have not found the gently sloping bottom that allows me to get far enough away from the bank to test line set-up rather than my ability to cast without snagging the trees behind me (yeah, I know - that's what two handed casting was designed to facilitate).
Anyway, if you have a spot in the Central Va area that you can recommend, I am all ears!
I can't understand why some folks think a drink can is harder to carry out when it is empty than it was to carry in when it was full.
