5 years old that would be a tough one. Glad you got back in the game.

See you on the Water

Labs do things like that, nothing is safe ,expect it. That's why we love them.

They sure are great dogs Grant. Looks like two happy dogs in your photo. I can only hope to live long enough to say I have had 7. Although I've only had the pup for a week, she certainly has a laid back attitude compared to my first. It could have something to do with bringing her to work with me where she meets 15-20 people per day. Cant wait to see what the years bring.

Thanks for the OP Gundog reference!

cheers
Joe

Great looking dog man. GWP was definitely on my radar but there are no breeders anywhere to be found near me. Looks like a happy river companion.

Cheers

But, happy for the owner.

I think you have to be a little bit careful with GSP's and hypothermia in and around these cold waters we tend to fish.
Great job on the rescue and chipping the dog! Very sorry to hear that you had to give her up after a short time although I'm sure the original owners were very thankful to have someone give her back. Sounds like you might have to search out a pup to fill that void..

Hypothermia is definitely something I have to keep in mind, Thanks for the heads up on that. May have to limit her winter steelhead fishing.

Thanks
Joe

Heres an updated pic of my berner!

Took him out over the weekend and he managed to dig up some old rotten chum out of the snow. Learns way too quick and has the appetite of a golden retriever.

Beautiful Berner!
How old is she/he?

That’s true, they learn everything very fast and they want to learn, play, do something with you all the time. 😃
With Ben have to be careful when we are going to fish, when he heard that I take my waders from my fishing room, he goes absolutely crazy..
