BC wine vs. Alberta pipelines

There is a war brewing here.

You might want to consider drinking more BC wine to support our province and its wild fish. Hopefully they survive Alberta's plans.

Red face

All I drink is BC wine, I guess I’ll just be drinking more of it now.

Canadian wine?!?!

I think I'll boycott it all.

Stick to "whisky".

Next they’ll grow oranges

I love Canada 🇨🇦

They remind me of New Zealanders

The “nice” North Americans

I do not know how this thread went to oranges, fancy cars and rock bands.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal for anyone to walk into a liquor store ask for a bottle of BC made wine and then go home and enjoy it. I bought 2 bottles today.
And honestly I do not even care if I like any other wine better. I will just show Alberta that their tactics are idiotic, like their whole pipeline concept is.

it’s the perfect storm... Provincial NDP in B.C. trying to establish themselves and Provincal NDP in Alberta trying to save themselves.. and the Feds (Liberal) fumble everything they touch. Trudeau has announced moving forward with the pipeline (right or wrong not for me to judge) however not confident train car or shipping is any better.. however this stall creates a gray area of unconstitutional. Wine boycott is childish and silly and hurts big and small business Ma and Pa owners and that sucks.

I thought it was an easy choice. Pipelines will likely put an end to fishing as well as kill off whales, dolphins and all else that can still be found in the ocean.
However if someone still thinks they may get through with the pipeline and this means a bigger house and truck for them and a bigger boat that they will put in the ocean in search of salmon.....they are very likely to be disappointed. You cannot eat your cake and have it too.

Hey Yanquis ,stop making fun of us ,eh .We are extra sensitive as we just had part of our national anthem changed from
"True patriot love in all thy sons command."
to
"True patriot love in all of the peoples command."
Wait until you see the changes in the Quebec fishing reg's due to changes in NAFTA . Heavy daily /seasonal duties imposed on non resident's fishing licenses and daily rates !
Some ZEC's realizing this is a major cash cow are already implementing this measure, so expect notifications in the mail before the April 01 deadline for final payments .

Cougar,

This is not a dispute on what is the best way to convey product. All methods have a risk associated with them and costs that are far to high(not under dispute). My post was to provide insight on the story behind the boycott that you failed to do.

No pipeline = no wine. It will be an interesting fight.

Ontario is just about to start a fight with NY State on protectionist buying policies...

I believe the question is not about the safest way to transport bitumen. The question is about the risks of commercially transporting bitument from Alberta to China via pipelines and tankers. And that we do not need to do it.

Where is your avatar picture from Juggy? Hope it is from Mars, because from your list of locations this will be the only one left.

Cougar,

I'm not going to bite. Your listening to respond rather than comprehend. I think my views are very clear. If you wish to discuss further we can do it on the river.

Yes, you were not supposed to. I had a flashy large colorful presentation that wasn't intended to be attacked by anything. Good luck fishing!
