First hook-up!

Hi everyone,

I was able to get out to my hometown river here in Ontario, the Saugeen and actually managed my very first hook-up on the 2 hander. Very exciting....caught me totally off guard....I managed to play the fish for about a minute when the line went slack. The trill!!!

Anyways, I also just wanted to express my compliments to everyone that is on this board mand contributes. It is very refreshing to read a very positive fishing page, so thank you!!

Josh

Good for you Josh !!

Like Dwayne said , we all remember our first and each hook-up/fish from here on , will be compared to it ........... thanks for sharing .

Couldn't have happened on a better river too ......... I love that river !! I don't make it there as often as I would like , since I have another great Steelhead river in my "backyard" . However , when I do , I'm never disappointed .

Again , congratulations Josh !

Mike

Have you Swung a Spey Fly today ??

Salmon Chaser, my combo was using a Sage VT2 13'8 8 wt with a Snowbee
3D 2D line with an airflow 10' sinking poly tip. The fly was a rather large 1/0 (in my opinion) black/purple marabou spey. I am thinking that the size of the hook came into play, so I am tying up some tubes in similar colours.

Thank everyone for the compliments, hopefully with this extra rain the last few days there will be some good fishing to come.

What other spring patters for the GL's do you guys use??

Thanks again!

Josh

Nice rod Josh,, I guided a lad from Switzerland last wednesday and he was using a VT2 9' 7wt and it was a sweet single-hander for sure.
i can only imagine your rod would be just as nice!
