Hi All

Hi All

Eastern Ontario guy here. I've hunted and fished since before I was in grade school, but didn't pick up a fly rod until this past summer, when I got thrown headfirst into a Miramichi salmon lodge by Blackville. Put my first cast on the water with a Hardy 8wt and that was all she wrote. I'm addicted to it now, and I've been taking every spare moment I have in University to read up on Atlantic Salmon fishing and using spey rods, and taking time every trip home to work on learning how to cast with my new (to me) rod, a 15' Guideline LPXe.

Figured I'd sign on here to engage with the community a bit and try to glean some knowledge from this group, since I'm a complete novice to the game (not even sure on what the difference between a spey line, running line and shooting heads are yet)! Hope to contribute here a bit and maybe see a few of you on the river!

There is a really good basic article that explains how to set up spey rods with different types of lines, heads, tips, leaders, tippets, etc.
