Hi folks,

Have been a member here for a while, but always looked in through the window.

I am located in Aberdeenshire/Scotland and very spoiled for fishing, River Dee, River Don, River Spey, River Tay, River Findhorn etc. All within a 90 minute drive. Although salmon stocks are very poor at the moment, it is still great to get out on these rivers.

Been fishing for about 25 years, and recently got into tying in the past year after many years of thinking about it.

Welcome to the Speypages !!
I am very jealous ... the rivers you mention are all on my "Bucket List".
I would really appreciate photos if you get the chance to post a few
Please checkout our tying forum here and feel free to post up a few patterns you fish those fabled waters with.

Been to your beautiful country several times visiting family, Rivers Conan and Beauly in the fall, oat cakes at Forbes in Muir of Ord and fresh haggis every Wednesday (get there early) at the butchers in Strathpeffer are permanenetly etched in my memory.

Thanks for the welcome.

Will post plenty of photos. Our season always starts with a trip to the Helmsdale in January for opening week and south thereafter.

Many thanks,

I have plenty of photo's to share. Our season starts with opening week on the River Helmsdale around the 12th of January in the far North Highlands. Very tropical that time of year:
