Intro from the ADKS
Hello everyone, I grew up in Missoula, flyfishing the trout rivers of western Montana. After bouncing around out west for a while, my wife and I moved to southeastern Mass and my trout addiction transferred to the salt targeting striped bass, bluefish, and albies. Two years ago, my wife was offered her dream job and we relocated to upstate New York, on the southern end of the Tug Hill Plateau, not far from the Adirondacks. As such, salmonids are again number 1 on the target list. Although I do relish my occasional trips back to Cape Cod and to tropical salt waters.
I started playing around with a 11.5' 6/7 wt switch rod on Cape Cod, mostly overhead casting in the surf, but also attempting Spey and Skagit style casts in the estuary outlets. I am still in my infancy as a two-hand caster and have had limited success with the fish, but I am having a great time learning. After moving back to trout water, I built a 10' 3/4 wt ARE fiberglass rod that has been a blast to play with.
