Old Fisherman / New to Spey

A good friend of mine, and great fisherman, directed me to this site. I believe he's trying to get me ready for our trip this fall to BC so he doesn't have to spend countless hours on the river coaching me on how to spey cast.

Whatever the reason, I'm very grateful for his consideration.

I'm looking forward to searching and exploring all the nuances of a variation of one of the best sports mankind has ever invented - Fly Fishing.

Thanks for allowing me to be a small part of your organization.

Rand

Thanks for joining the forum Rand and welcome to Spey Pages. A BC trip...sounds very nice. You've found the right place for all things spey.

I look forward to more of your posts.

Mr. MacCuaig,

Where do you hang your waders? There's a gathering of spey casters and instructors in Welches, Oregon very soon, and you'd be well advised to attend if you're close by.

I'm not sure if you could find a larger gathering of spey hoi-paloi in the US.

This event would be well worth your time.

Looking forward to reading about your metamorphosis.
