Greetings from Maine

Hi all, looking forward to meeting like-minded people, especially other people from the Northeast who love to swing for anything that swims. I mostly do single-hand skagit for trout and bass, but use the 2-hander on the few rivers we have that are big enough. Would love to find other addicts to fish with, feel free to hit me up if you ever want to catch big native brookies or LL salmon, too .

There’s a rumor of a super secret spey fishing club throughout the New England area - very hush hush unless one knows the handshake

Welcome! What waters do you enjoy fishing?

Cheers,
J

My favorites are the Rangeley-area rivers, I get up there whenever I can. I also fish a bunch of small streams in Southwest Maine where I live for small brookies, as well as some smallmouth on the Andro and Saco. Just starting to use the two-hander in the salt for stripers, too. I just moved to Maine about 3 years ago, so I'm still exploring the wealth of options here and in neighboring NH.

I live in NB about an hour from the US border at Calais. Have fished for LL salmon at Grand Lake Stream a few times and would be happy to meet up sometime. The nice thing about fishing in ME is that you can stop at the duty free liquor stores both going and returning!

PS - I do have my NB Guide II licence which allows me to accompany a non-resident - satisfies the non-resident must hire a guide requirement here.
