OPST Commando for ACR 1174

Considering getting an OPST or similar line for this rod. Has anyone cast these short skagit heads on this rod? If so, how did you like it and what grain weight worked best?

Best Fishes,
Dave Cornue

Contact Mike at OPST. He was helpful with lining a few rods for me.

I use the 325 and 350 (when throwing heavy stuff) on my TCX 7119-4. Amazing how well the rod loads and fires with something that feels so light. I use the OPST 12' tips to give the 15' head a tad more length.

ACR 1175 findings

Brookie; I have an ACR 1175 and have fished OPST 25Ogr with T8 on it successfully, it casts beautifully with casting stroke tucked in close, watch the anchor placement, don't overpower the cast, use the action of the rod to perform the delivery (don't over power). Used a cut Airflo switch with a grain weight of 270 and length 13.5' on it the other day, it is so light and easy to cast these short heads on these rods perfect for up to medium rivers.

I have the 1173 and use the 175gr Commando, works a treat! But the SGS line that Gary sent with the rod just sings!
