New Bamboo Trout Spey Rod

I just wanted to show you my new toy:

Wolfram Schott build me a wonderfull trout spey rod.

It is his version of a Garrison 236 taper, three piece with a proper twohanded grip.

Very nice rod to look and hopefully to fish with.

Paired with a Orvis CFO VI and an old and refurbished silk line. As I was refurbishing this line some years ago, I got many good hints and tips from Wolfram Schott.

The rod on the River Sinn in Hessen/Germany.

Me, looking for a fly.

I tried the rod with an Airflo Switch Float #3,5 with 240gr. Very nice to cast.

No fish but what a day on the water. Thank you Wolfram for this great rod.

Tight lines,

For trout fishing NOTHING beats a good Boo in hand; They just help keep you 'focused.'

My fishing partner and I worked with Thomas & Thomas on their Bamboo 10ft two handed rod for several years.

The T&T really likes Scandi heads of 300-320gr making it a true 5wt Spey rod.

Very crisp and quick action for bamboo construction.
Most if not all of the older rods had a very soft full flex into the cork.
