ACR Nova 1143 lines/experiences?

Pulled the trigger on an anderson nova 11ft4 three weight as i have been looking around for a trout spey with the lower sac and klamath in mind. I'm just curious if anyone has any experiences to share along with the usual request for line recommendations while i wait for its arrival. Thanks in advanced!

Doesn't the rod come with a line? I would go with what Gary recommends he usually is spot on.

Talk to Gary A. or Steve Godshall, they will set you up with either a scandi, skagit line. My trout spey came with a SGS scandi line that is perfect for the rod.

Godshall built me a heavy scandi line for my ACR 1173. It will throw 12' nylon leaders to 12 xfast sinking polyleaders. This set up has served me well fishing the same waters you mentioned. I'm sure he can make you something you will really like for your rod.

I love my ACR trout spey. You made a great choice. I'm sure you will enjoy fishing the rod.

For a trout-size rod I'd say there is even more reason to get Steve to build you a line, not just because there are not a ton of more commercial choices out there, but because of how fantastically precise the distinction he makes between rods for the line weights and lengths. If it is an ACR that goes double - he had worked a lot with Gary, and I'm sure he will have personal experience (and the data in his database) for any of those rods. He may even have helped to design it. Such a privilege to have that kind of (as far as I know unique) thing available!

BTW, it DOES sounds like what you want is an SGS scandi for tips. Watch out on the Klamath, there are a lot of monsters there that can ninja your "trout" fly! LOL

I played with one briefly at Sandy last year and very much enjoyed the little stick. Think I was using a 230 scandi but seems like it could have gone about one notch lighter. Rod flexes readily and deeply. Those little guys are all kinds of fun.

I see you're a shvingger too!
