Montana trout flies

I'm trying to learn the photo posting process. I was recently successful on the classicflyrodforum.com. Now I am trying to get proficient on spey pages. I'm not using a laptop I am using my iPad and the format is different. I'll see what I can do.

OK, at least I got some photos to post . Now I will try to work on my photography. Please bear with me, I have no grandchildren #!!**#

Here is one of my favorites, The Not So Casual Dress. Its a new take on Polly Rosebrough's legendary Casual Dress. This fly swings great, with a ton of movement, if you would like to see how I tie it check out my Trout Spey Blog.

I"ve got a few that look similar to those - veeery fishy patterns indeed. From drab earthy tones, to bright neon orange or pink bodies - that style of fly fishes very very well.

Just another day in paradise...

Polly's Casual Dress has always been a favorite of mine, both for trout and steelhead. It was one of the first nymphs I started fishing for steelhead with. I dead-drifted it and let it swing around to the dangle where I hooked 75% of my steelhead. The trout mostly came on the transition between dead-drift and swing, as the fly came around and started to rise.

I really like your variation Nate !! I think it could be a winner in some of the trout creeks I fish

Thanks for sharing !!

Mike

Have you Swung a Spey Fly today ??

Trying a new hook style

Tied these for an upcoming planned autumn trip. Tiemco 2302 hook size 8, they measure 22mm long, initial tests see them swimming well and straight with a tight action, happy with that as they are a terrestrial hook.

Good Stuff Mike, please fish it on your water! I would love to hear how it fishes somewhere else. I doesn't work on any of the waters you'll find me on

Bigger Morsels

Playing around with bunny strip lately and doubles. Swung this before a another weather front comes blasting through, hunting for a post spawn brown looking for a meal, surprised when a rainbow jumped on it then rolled and spat it out!

Those look interesting

What are you swinging for? Can get some side by side comparisons?

What size are you using?

Thanks, looks sharp
