Richard Adams Video

Pretty cool video on legendary Atlantic Salmon guide.
French narration, but the good stuff's in English!

My friend and brother in law and I used to pick Richard Adams up in the winter when he was hitch hiking from matapedia to causapscal. We were going skiing and he was always there. I was an honor to have known him this way. Both of these men are gone today. I miss them both.
We drove by Richard one morning it was about -35 celsius and we only realized it was him about 1000yds down the road. We were traveling at 60 mph on ice and by the time we got stopped Richard had almost caught up to us. It was so cold that his breath was frozen to his jacket almost to his belt.at that time Richard must have been in his 80s. One word of advice I remember him telling us about fishing salmon was to trust your fly and have a couple not a hundred.
Do I ever miss those days. His last words on the video were pere Noel. And this is where I get my handle.

I had the same experience when I met him the first time. Hiking along highway 132. Was coming back from a fishing/camping/kayaking trip on Cape Breton Island with the wife, girlfriend at the time.
I picked him up to my wife's surprise! Was on his way to meet his sports for the day. What an interesting man! Was amazing how fast the conversation led to fishing & even at that age(late 80s), you could feel his passion for the sport!
Love the fact that he always wore a tie to work!
