Moisie river Atlantic Salmon fishing (Quebec)

Here's a short film my friends and I shot back in Sept 2016 while flyfishing the upper reaches of the mighty Moisie river in the Ouapetec sector.

I think it truly captures the overwhelming feeling any Atlantic Salmon fisherman will experience while chasing these silver bullets in such breathtaking settings...

Hope you enjoy the clip.

Tightlines

Mart

The expression on his face at 1:45 says it all. Always love when someone captures that special moment between angler and guide when it all comes together, great video.

Nice video and beautiful place. I wonder what the daily rate at that outfitter is... Knowing what some of the other Moisie outfitters charge... Probably not for me.... sigh...

Thanks again for the good comments folks.

The place is situated right where the Ouapetec flows into the Moisie river .

50.8561872108, -66.4653447889

Since it's so Upstream the fist ones usually start showing up in early July and from there the fishing picks up until mid September.

What's really great about this sector is that you have the option of using your BIG water stick and go for "mile long drifts" on the Moisie or simply hit the Ouapetec if you prefer fishing mid sized streams.

Hi Brian,

Yes ! He's been spending all summers up there since 2008.

He'll be fishing in Gaspé next week before he heads back to the camp in Sept-Iles for the season.

Hope you're doing well.

Cheers,

M.
