Thanks for that! I think Corin has a good grasp of what fishing is all about.

OK, I'll bite. 45 days until......?

Hi Bob

Glad you enjoyed it. How are you? Do you know Corin?

I’m really falling in love with the idea of spending time over there

I always have my first hook up by March 10th

Best,

J

Jon

Prices vary but you can walk your own beat without a chillin for half the price on a river like the Dee which sounds heavenly

They accommodate up to 20 people. Maybe we could get a member trip together

Hey Jonas ~

Doing well. Dealing with shoulder issues presently, but no worries mate....

No, I don't know Corin, but after listening to what he values when wading rivers, and what he wants his clients to experience puts me in mind of things my father taught me when we fished together many moons ago. It also brings to mind the pictures in other videos of fishermen enjoying a smoke, or a chat and a wee snort sitting along the rivers edge.

To me, there is value in finding a clump of goose grass upon which to sit, or a tree upon which to lean, and take a break from time to time. It releases the pent up tension from casting, and it allows me to see and hear things I wouldn't normally pay attention to while in the process of casting. Why it's taken me over half a century to figure this out is beyond me, but I'm going to enjoy more from here on out.

There are snippets in each video you ferret out to send that allow me get into that peaceful zone in the wee hours before bed that are very therapeutic to me. Then again, there are other parts that get my mind racing and heart pumping that almost make me wader up, grab my kit, and head to the water!

Damn it man!

Damn Bob we need to hangout on the water! I couldn’t agree more. Taking it all in stride. I love the video. The idea of hitting the Dee on a self tour walking the footsteps so many others have yet all is new and novel to me. That would be epic and I want to make it happen

Sweet place and video. Add it to my dream list.
Half my family tree originates from Scotland, Ireland. Sure my long lost relatives would love to have me show up

Sorry guys. But, there’s something about “private water” that chaps my ash.
Have a great time Mr. James. Can’t wait for the highlights.

What if the private water was yours? Sorry, I'd love to have a beat that was all mine! Mwhahahahahahahaha!

Years ago, my father was fishing in NZ, and discovered the Queen's Rod. (I believe it was NZ) Anyway, a rod in surveyors terminology is 16.5 feet. Everything from the waters edge inland 16.5 feet was available for anyone to trod, wade, cast, etc. Woe be it, however, for the nong who leaves a cigarette butt, or gum wrapper though. You'd likely have your nads dangling from the nearest Jacaranda if caught!

Wow! I’m not a private waters fan either, but that just added “fishing a beat in Scotland with the backdrop of Balmoral Castle” to my bucket list. Along with “fishing a Scottish loch with a hound whose ears flap in the wind”. Good stuff J - thanks for all these posts!
