That's interesting... It took me right back home as well. The first 18 years of my life were spent raising cattle in Colorado with my Grandpa Jim. I still have a couple of scars from branding irons and such. Even back then our river ( the Arkansas) was in serious trouble. I still wear hats just like those but I sure have to put up with a lot of flack to do it. And its a small world as well because I was fishing with Bevin just the other week and BB came up in conversation. And all because of spey rods...amazing. Thanks JJ, its good of you to search all this stuff out for us. Cheers....Jimmy

Yeah, Bevin was over here in the states several years ago, fishing several rivers, the last of which was the Rogue. He asked, via SP, if anyone could help him on this river, and I agreed. Unfortunately, his flight had him here on a day that I was actually treating invasive species on the river, so we never did fish together. When I was pushing my drift boat close to my takeout however, I did spot him. We got together the next day when I took him over to Bob Meiser's shop for while, then off to the airport, where I had a pint with he and his wife before they set off for home. Both charming people that you feel like you've known forever.

I have a feeling we'll connect again, probably with me asking him to take me out on a Tasman river!
