Interesting video

I really didn't want to bring life into the SH thread in the General forum but I thought the following video from SAGE was humorous in its depiction of the guide and fun but then it began to actually make a controversial proposition especially in the debate on HOW to fish in the context of dwindling stocks.

Given the willingness of you speypagers to express your feelings so freely which I think is great when there is conflicting attitudes (but the absence of haughty provocation) we disagree with one another here very well and more respectfully than most any other place

Is it to each his own? Do you fish at all? Or do you go your own way and style so long as the water is open? Does the swing approach bring less pressure because it's so ineffectual in comparison to other approaches? Tradition aside ...

The links you post to videos are so good that I hardly ever do a YouTube search anymore! Keep them coming!

I can't understand why some folks think a drink can is harder to carry out when it is empty than it was to carry in when it was full.

There is quite a discussion on this on WFF, it's a nice vid but a major brand whoring out the resource that is in the most peril is ridiculous.

Some numbers to chew on...
2016 wild steelhead escapements

Hoh 2,227
Bogachiel 730
Calawah 2,331
Sol duc 2,165
= 7,453
All these rivers are open till or through April.

For comparison the leading N Puget sound river has 7,918 returning and is closed to winter steelheading, hope this will change soon!

The coastal rivers need to be shut down before it's to late, or the state could open every river to C N R and spread the pressure out. The coast cannot handle the pressure anymore, the Sol Duc has 130% of the fish being caught, the Hoh is around 80%. We are far to efficient at catching, kuddos for the young man to change his tactics, but at the same time is pimping out a a declining stock.
