Favorite part - casually flipping up his hood after just hooking up. That is some James-Bond-readjusting-his-tie-after-just-having-a-battle-to-the-death-with-the-bad-guy stuff! Goal for the coming year/s - catch enough big fish to be that nonchalant!

In this winter of high flows, it's good to watch a film like that, to remember what it's like to be on the water.

The 'take' - there's nothing that gets me more stirred up!

thanks

The hen at 8:30 is a stupendous tank!

Stuff like this will get me through the next two rough months until the Atlantics start running where I go to fish.

Vosso river, or the Bolstad river (lower part of the watershed).
Some 30 years ago, the Bolstad river was one of the most saught after in Norway, and regularly produced fish in the 50-60+ lbs size.
The price to fish there was the same size (huge).

Today the wild fishstock in Bolstad/ Vosso have been desimated by the many, many salmonfarms (sea-lice farms) in the fjord outside. Please dont buy or eat Norwegian farmed salmon, that **** is killing our wild salmon.

Great video James, the Neteland brothers are skilled and enjoyable to watch. The Bolstad river has shown some improvement the last couple years, and I hope to fish it some day.

Thank you for the context Sig

It is a stunning watershed

I'm always eager to learn more about these famous places especially the first hand accounts that are not published and often go unknown except by those who reside in the area and are up on current and past events

There are a bounty of gorgeous world class rivers in the Scandinavian countries

I'm also delighted that speypages members enjoy passing the cold months watching the work and adventures of others with the same examination of details styles and cinema that I do

I really love life with a Spey rod

Thanks again,
J

I'm having neck surgery in a little over a week, and will not be able to fish for 3 months, so keep the vids coming!

Botsari,

Let us know how do buddy!

We just received two feet of snow. I was out fishing the day before yesterday and had my first pull in what feels like forever but whoa! It was a toe curler! Some of the videos I've found have some great footage but are spoiled by the occasional horrific fish handling. If you pm me your email I'll forward enough to keep you busy and we can banter

Regardless, hope the surgery is smooth

Cheers,
J

I didn't want to criticize the video, but it looked like some of the fish they caught were farm escapees, which I understand is also a big problem on some of the Norwegian rivers. What a bummer that a river that was home to big, wild, Atlantics has been hurt so badly by farming. I could go on for days about some of the lousy and barely regulated practices of the farms in Atlantic Canada (many of whom happen to be Norwegian owned).
