Hardy Movie

I think most are aware of the movie and many have already seen it but just thought I would post a link for any who have not seen it yet. I just got done watching it was very enjoyable has something for everyone fly tying, Rod making, reel making, and just a good history lesson. Enjoy.

I watched it twice last week. Brings back all the reasons I am a Hardy fan. A must see.

Here is a review that I wrote of the movie, for a now defunct UK web site, when it came out a few years ago, which may be of interest.

Thank you, john8. Had not before, seen it. Glad now that I have. So much of today's fishing has Hardy ancestry. That times have changed diminishes Hardy not at all.

Trufflepig Films who made the movie in 2008 consists of two people, Andy Heathcote and Heike Bachelier. They made the movie at their own expense and worked hard to get it shown in (at least one) cinema in the UK.

I am sure that they would appreciate your support for their creation if a copy of the DVD would be purchased from them directly from their website. Available in versions for both Europe and N. America.

Two free ones online:

Something with a somewhat similar flavor, if you are in the mood - a guy in search of the traditional fly fishing a la Issak Walton on a visit to England is this documentary.

Then of course there is "rivers of a lost coast"- very different, but one of the best documentaries ever made, that manages like many of the other really great documentaries to be about much more than fly fishing and where by the end the fishing, and the history/loss of that fishing becomes a metaphor for something much bigger.
