Hi Mike ..the reel is an sjo aure reel...Norwegian I think...I asked about it here in the reel section a while back.
The reel is a right hand wind but I just use it left handed ...I only ever use it and that set up for fishing sunrays in low water....it's just a cheap reel but it works fine and looks OK.

The reel looked like a vintage Percy Wadham salmon reel at first glance ...
Life has taught me that price has nothing to do with function or durability in this fly-fishing game. My old Pfleuger Medalist out performed and out lasted some fairly expensive reels !!

She's a peach of a reel, keep her in the line up

Mike

Have you Swung a Spey Fly today ??

Not much luck of late...more lost than banked...sea trout no doubt...with low water and lots of weed growth fishing has been limited...this good sea trout put my dropper into the weed...normally I'd have got out and followed the fish but the banks are wild.

I have been fishing for trout using dry fly recently as the salmon have been very scarce ...however I did catch my first sea trout on the dry fly and on sat I had the most bizarre encounter with a 12 lbs salmon.https://youtu.be/q2z-gQ7PdRE

Nice looking sea trout, scrappy fellows... Having been out much myself, temperatures have been crazy hot, but we've got lots of rain lately, so hopefully the water will get cooled down.

That's my salmon season come to an end with 90% of the fish now well coloured up and gravid.
A very poor season personally for me but i did manage to make a short film of the few highlights i captured.
Hope you enjoy.
