Son starts spey casting

Here's a quick video of my son, 15, who just started spey casting this past winter. This is him on the swing with a 12'4" rod using a 485 gr. scandi short VT. He got his first steel this trip as well as a few salmon. He's real fun to fish with!

Pretty damned good for a kid, good to see kids out fishing. He'll be guiding in no time

Beautiful stroke!

... the pseudo-science of running-lines and matching heads has now devolved into such a miasma of obfuscation that it is a wonder that people are even not more confused....Erik Helm

Thumbs up Exceeeeellunt!

Sooner they enter the "Dark Side" the better. "Welcome to the Dark Side young Luke Skywalker, Welcome!"

Only one cast, but appears he's got 'Game On.'

That is great man. Your lucky to have someone you care about to share your hobby with. It'll be a great feeling knowing your rods will be inherited by your son.

That's cool I love when my son shows interest. He's only just turning 9, but he has a single hand outfit he's proficient at using. I think he'll show even more interest with double handed rods when he gets a little older. Or maybe I'll build one just for him.
