Have ran into Tim at the fly shop or at the Echo factory myself - just a great personality and his passion for fly fishing shows in everything that he does.

Cool guy, I enjoyed that.

Is he saying that switch rods, or at least switch rods 11ft and less, have pretty limited applications for steelhead?

I couldn't help noticing that the rod he is holding is equipped with a Danielsson Original reel. A beautifully simple piece of kit that I really dig. I'm a huge fan of Echo rods and Airflo lines, but that reel is pure elegance IMHO.
