Very cool angle snake roll video

Forgive my buddies finger in the video but the angle is so cool and shows the weird shapes that the D loop makes when not seen from the side

Do me a favor and go back to that same spot on a nice sunny day about the same time of day and replicate that without Marks finger. ( I do that all the time myself, so I cant be too hard on him) Great angle, nice cast and the lighting and shadow in the background are superb.

Haha Tim we took a few more without the finger but the caster couldnít get the line to almost hit the camera like this one

I miss the finger.

Again Bruce, I see funny things happening during that epic cast. That wiggle as he rolls up behind him to form the d-loop and forward cast. I have to get someone somehow to record me during some casting. I need to see it. I could ask Peter but he would make me look bad. Especially If I have to follow him after a cast.

Dan

Which way to the river?

Dan thatís casting
One thing to keep in mind is that there is about 107feet of line and leader outside the rod tip while the cast is being made before any line is shot

That little wiggle might not even qualify as slack because it is so faint and the line soon comes taut with no effort. There is something else going on that makes this cast so effective IMO and most of us miss it, no matter how many times we've been told (I'm just figuring it out for myself) Specially those of us that vacillate between longer lines and shorter heads.

I've had good luck propping my phone on a rock or bringing a tripod to video my casting. I think if you do this, yeah, its a total PITA, You will really be happy with the results! Good luck.
