Cool North Umpqua Steelies like skaters!

After the first two minutes of this clip you aren't going to believe the action this skater is going to incite!

kind of a too-often-posted deal, if you ask me

besides, that's Kamchatka. Start saving, boys and girls.

FWIW. I hadn't seen it yet, and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for posting.

I'm with SSPey on this vid. While it is impressive it pimps a rare jewel of a river. I wonder how much pressure this vid has added on the NFU this year.

Oh well, we can dream can't we? Whether it's in Kamchatca, BC, or OR, watching the skater get pumped through that swing gets the blood going doesn't it!

Nice

Great video. As far as added pressure,I did not ,or could not pack my bags for a weekend fly in .As with I'm sure 98 percent of the viewers, its great to dream of the day. Just my opinion .

Nope. Those are all familiar runs on the North Umpqua.

To the fellow that said Kamchatka...no way...
Say Russia on the cheap: 3 hours out of Sun River or 1.5 off of I-5.

Not BC or Russia!

To add support to Mike's last post -

I got a chuckle out of how people automatically equate anything that pretty to BC or Russia. I can assure all you doubters, that is the NU right here in Oregon. That clip is permanently posted on the home page of my web site and the guy making all of those pretty casts is Rich Zellman who works for my guide service.

I will also add that this footage is tame in comparison to the dry fly/popper stuff Jeff and I will feature in Volume 2 of the Skagit Master series.

As far as added pressure to the river as a result of Ryan's short clip:
as much as I like having a river to myself, I don't fish the NU seeking solitude. As frustrating as it may be at times navigating around fellow anglers, the reality is that the river can use as many friends as it can get. The fact we were able to push through C&R regs for the NU's wild winter steelhead against the will of ODFW, is testament to what friends of a river can do.
