DVD's

Having forsaken long line casting for Skagit style, I really didn't expect to glean any useful information from this video. I was wrong!

I bought this DVD because I couldn't figure out how Scott's style of casting worked. I mean bringing the rod clear back to a horizontal position on the backcast sweep just went against everthing I had been taught. The rod compleately unloads during that phase of the cast and must be reloaded again on the forward stroke. And why does that stroke not throw an excessive amount of line on the water?

But you cannot dispute the results. Watch the video. Again, & again & again. In slow motion again, & again & again. And the computer animation is an excellent feature. First class.Slow that down as well. It may take a wihle to sink in. Justification for laying out the bucks.

I have a lot of casting video's. And there is something to be gleaned from all of them.

I did have trouble viewing all of this dvd. I don't know whether it is the dvd itself, or my player. I tried cleaning the head. Also tried it on my girl friends player. Finally got it to play all the way through on my laptop. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I fish because the voices inside my head tell me to.

Very good video. Scott's techniques are lean and easy to understand.

I managed to get my hands on a copy a few months ago.Great dvd.I have picked up more then a few things from it. The quality of the photography and the beautifull rivers is top notch.I find it particularly enjoyable to watch it when accompanied by a cold pint of Innis & Gunn.

Scott Mackenzie Speycasting Masterclass DVD

Hi pcg,
The DVD has been a great seller around the world and is still selling very well, there is lots to learn from Scott's Technique no matter what style of Speycasting you like.
Having been to every flycasting show in the UK over many year and seen every demo, i still have never seen anybody cast like Scott, he just make casting out of sight so effortless, and his demo still draws the biggest crowds anywhere.
The DVD's are available here on speypages, or amazon.com and i have a few copies left in BC.

As a side note,
Scott has just brought out his own range of DTX (design through experience) rods and lines after 18 months in developement, and they sold out in less than four month in the UK, making them the biggest and fastest selling Spey rod in 2009, i will have one of each of the rods and lines in Canada next week, with the full range available next month.
Have a look at.

Thanks Gordon.
