SOR GGACC Members Special, Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Thank you, Gene! Our members look forward to working with you.

Our coaches include Gene Oswald, Greg Bencivenga, Brian Styskal and Whitney Gould, plus the Carron boys. And there are more to come.

This is a world class group. Thank you all for giving something back to the hard working supportive members of GGACC whose volunteer labor makes SOR possible.

We would appreciate a couple of our Scandinavian and Japanese competitors volunteering a half day on April 13 to coach GGACC's Spey casters.

Because GGACC has several women Spey anglers, we will appreciate SOR's women competitors volunteering to coach in the April 13 program. Mia, Takako, Siv Anita: are you available?

Jeff Bright Presents

SWINGING FLIES FOR THE PRINCE OF THE NORTH: Arctic Char in Nunavut

The slideshow will share Jeff Bright's experience fishing for sea-run Arctic char last summer on Victoria Island. Jeff is a terrific angler, photographer and writer.

Jeff states, "Indeed you can swing flies for Prince of the North! They are a very cool fish — and they get over 20 pounds on the river I fished."

Ruairi's Spey Course in Ireland

The Carron Team is serious.

Ruairi Costello is getting ready for Spey O Rama -- WITH A TRACK HOE !

Ruairi reports:
"Hi Bob just to let u know i let 4 feet of water out of my lake, then made it wider so i can do snake rolls. i also put concrete base in as well. All i need now is a flood to fill it back up again. Ruairi"

WAY TO GO, RUAIRI !!

I wish I had a track hoe.

Oh my god, you ARE serious Ruari!!

Now, if you'll just stock that thing with some browns and rainbows, we'll be over there practicing with you!

If you build it... they will come.

Ruairi

I am surprised your boot marks are not embedded on the concrete plate!!!

Really looking forward to coming to SOR this year and meeting up with everyone. Scotland has been frozen for the last three months, but with an imminent thaw, I am looking forward to getting out for a bit of practice.

Gordon
