Line Rec for TFO TICRX 8wt Conversion
Hello everyone,
My question begins with: HELP! I have went through the searches and totaly confused. I own the TFO conversion for my 8wt TICRX and I am set with an overhead shooting head which I can cast a counrty mile, well atleast I judge it as it. I am looking to use a skagit or AFS posibily???? I have a 400 and 500 RIO, 7/8 airflo skagit with tons of various weight tips. I know it is probably more my casting style which sucks but what line would you recommend not including the one mentioned. Or am I just heading the wrong direction. For some reason I love the rod and want to find something which works for me. I caught tons of salmon on it and what a roar. Should I just stick to overhead becasue it works great for me. Any help would be great Thank You BRAVEHEART |

Hey William, what line are you using overhead for that rod? I've been using a Rio outbound 11 and/or 12wt a 485-500 grains I think.
It works alright, sometimes - the stroke takes some getting used to and I end up with a lot of tailing loops. Just wondering what (weight/length) line someone else is having success with? I'll also be interested to hear if you are able to figure out a good spey line for it - b/c of the fast taper I would guess it will be better suited for a scandi head than skagit, but I don't know. definately takes a lot of grains to load it deep.
