All my (or where every they are) 'bookmarks' are toast .. or are they? MZ with Google as my home page are there if you want to do a heck of a lot of fooling around (like one at a time).

More to the point, how do I get them to merge again and just get back up to speed? More fun was my g-mail was hacked early last night and had to go into straighten out that ball of fur.

& why is it that when you have just finished all the tweaks to get it 'just so', "they" go & change it all again!!!???

As to 'the scream', I believe it's just a misdemeanour offence after 11pm, but becomes a full felony on the night of a full moon.....OWWWWWWWWW!!!

Safari is so superior to Firefox.

Keep in mind that the problem you have encountered may be operating system related.

Either a web search engine or an operating system should work flawlessly.
Some minor problem ( occasional flu ) is OK but major issues ( constant cardiac arrests) are not acceptable.

The lap top that FF ate is a PC running Window's 7. Heck of it is, is both lap tops are running sooooo slow it's a mind bender. Don't go and play 'where I shouldn't' and have Avast and AVG running for anti-virus plus two malware programs that are fully active. That said, they still pick up the odd 'What the hells!?'

Each machine gets auto updates, the programs are always running in the back ground plus I'll do a manual sweep at least once a day. Following financial markets from Germany to Japan makes for very unusual sleep patterns. Only 'good thing,' in White City Oregon of all places, we have a 24/7 Subway shop. Young ladies are getting used to me wondering in at 0230'ish for 'breakfast.'

sorry to hear about your woes, Fred. Safari is pretty good and free. Your bookmarks are on your computer and if you search there is a way to export them to a file that you can load back into firefox, though I'm pretty sure you have to have the original version of FF open to do so.

Id use google crome, i used to use firefox and since i switched to crome life has been much easier haha

mcommins above has been a total Peach helping through this fiasco. Very detailed PM this morning walking me through how to 'solve' the problem.

Fellow really knows his stuff ..... will find out just much of a total Luddite I am later this AM.
