Yes, one of the keys to the Intruder concept is the appearance of bulk - without a whole bunch of material. That is the beauty of the original with its use of a few turns of split pheasant tail for the front and back hackles - the stiff fibres maintained a larger profile yet were actually quite sparse.

I like those colors and materials. I would go with about half the amount of feathers though. It will have the same profile, but be much easier to cast. The beauty of intruders.

Yeah this fly could be a refined a bit more, but I was bored so I messed around with some ideas. I definitely over did it with the amherst and guinea. I do like a little more ostrich on my intruders though, just personal preference.
