I sell income property in the PNW with my dad... Great job and fun to travel around... Lots of times there is a rod tucked in... never know when you might drive past a river that looks to good to just drive by with out fishing ;)

Congrats on completing school btw!

I went to a dinner party, some time ago, and the make up of the guests appeared to be from all walks of life.

One does the rounds, speaking to people, introducing the wife, and general small talk. You know the scene.

Towards the close of the party, this particularly engaging couple held us in conversation for some time, talking about recent sporting events, world news, politics, and a little about fishing, the latter of which appeared to not hold the interest of this particular pair for very long.

After determining that the gentleman was indeed an architect, a subject I know very little about apart from understanding that some buildings are really beautiful together with functionality, I asked his wife what she did for a living, to which she replied "I'm a lawyer".

I replied that I'm a surgeon, and asked her further "What do you say to people who ask you, say, at one of these social evenings, for some professional advice?"

The lady lawyer replied quite succinctly "I try to avoid answering professional questions at these functions".

"But what if the questioner is quite persistent?" says I....

She replied "I will then think for a moment or two longer, ask a few more details, and then give that person a measured professional response to their query, and then send them a bill in the morning".

I was a little surprised about how candid she had been, but thought to myself 'Hey, that's a new one, I may try that in the future'.

The conversation then passed on to a new topic, then another, and eventually we parted company, myself & my wife moved on to circulate some more.

Eventually, the evening drew to a close, we said our goodbyes to our hosts, and we got a cab home.

In the morning's post, from the lady lawyer, I got a bill for £100.00!!! citing the professional advice she had given me at the dinner party.

B!tch!!!

What do I do for a living

I was a professional student for many years. Got out of High School 1968, spent 3 years in College and got a BS in both Biology and Chemistry in 1971,
spent a summer traveling US and Canada on a motorcycle with a fly rod and a frying pan. Started Dental School Sept. '71 and graduated June '75. I'm ending my 37th year of practice, and have not had a bad day in the business.

It is alphabet soup after my name, and the fish just don't show me any respect.

Good luck in your venture into the real world.
