That lovely bird has TWO fish in it's talons. My daughter just pointed it out as she was flipping through the pages. I've looked at that photo countless times and failed to notice the second fish in the bottom left corner.
Maybe it's just me...but theres something new to find in that book almost every time it's open.
YOu ever fish for steelhead in Cogburn creek or silver river east side Harrison Lake?

Great book, learned alot from it the first two times I borrowed it from my buddy Mike. My wife finally bought me my own for Christmas.

Funny it was a gift. I received the book for a birthday present I believe. Enjoy each and every read. Even the times when it's just a 5 minute scan of a few pages.
Just - I can't say I've been fortunate enough to fish those rivers. Would you recommend or looking for info? Feel free to PM me.

Just received this yesterday from Poppy @ the Redshed. What a beautiful
book! Went trout fishing @ Lake Morena today. Looking forward to
digging into this book tonite. Some fantastic photography. Expect the
libretto
to be the same.

I bought this book back in October, 2006--I always seem to refer to the book for many different reasons-there is just so much information-I truly enjoy Dec`s way of wording a situation. Much like his DVD. Modern Spey Casting.

Snakes:
Had a senior moment there. The book that I had just got from Redshed
was "Seasons of the Steelhead." Both are great! The Dec Hogan is a
fantastic "how to" text. Can't help but improve by reading it. I've had
that book for a year.
I did see some liquid refreshments on a truck's hood in the photo on
page 261. Can't tell if that's a flask or not. Ask me next month after
a cataract surgery.

It's great to hear so many of you enjoying my book! It makes all of the hard work I put into it worth it.
Snakes - Did you find the other little surprise sitting next to the flask?
Isteinb - The "liquid refreshment" on page 261 is indeed a Diet Coke. Straight.

Well, I think I finally nailed it. Page ___! Based on another page's
text, my educated guess would place it next to a critter of some sort. An
evil trick to play on aging eyes! Great photo.
Dec Hogan and Rich Murphy, with his "Fly Fishing For Striped Bass."
have written the definitive volumes for two of the most sought after
game fish. A lift of that flask to you, gents!

That's amazing! I'm certain I would have overlooked that little guy for many more years. Love it.
It's been a great book to have around the house. My daughter flips through it for three things; the flies, the "lizard", and the whole Migratory Wonder chapter.
I seem to find myself continually reading it cover to cover, and lately, using it as a reference for various things.
