If you have read this book please comment below, if you have not...read it and comment below! I would love to discuss it with as many as possible. I have had few experiences reading like I had with this text.

I started reading yesterday morning, finished 20 minutes ago, still in a fog of sorts and trying to wrap my head around it... what a great piece of literature.

Thanks

Sam

It was an interesting read but for me [my opinion only] the highly defined setting an is what made it so appealing.. one we all know and relate to.

He has a new novel titled 'Holding lies' now available.. have not read it yet.

Does anyone know the symbolism for the blackberries?

For whatever reason my page only shows three posts under book reviews, I would not have started a new thread has I seen yours.
Thank you!

Near the bottom of the page "Book Reviews," you'll see "Display
Options and under that "From the."
Select something other than "last month" to see past posts.

read them both. Both good reads. Not sure what my favorite was, probably NW of N. I enjoy his style.

I just finished this book a couple of days ago. I read Holding Lies first, but it didn't matter too much to me that they were out of order.
I thoroughly enjoyed both books and was kind of depressed after finishing the second book. I want more! I also have The Complete Steelheader...kind of neat as he talks about an old friend of mine that I used to play cards and fish with while living in CO.

Anyone have suggestions for similar books? I need to start something else soon.
Thanks all...

-----Hook, Line & Sinister
Just finished reading this collection of 16 original crime fiction (or
should that be "crime fishin?") stories. The 16 writers have agreed
to donate all royalties to CASTING FOR RECOVERY and PROJECT
HEALING WATERS. The publishers will also contribute a share of
their receipts. All of the stories involve mystery and fishing. I
didn't come across any two handed endeavors; just lots of
"underhanded" stuff. A good read if you enjoy this genre. Edited
by one of the contributors - T. Jefferson Parker.

Also, you might check out John Galligan's "Knot" books. They follow a trout bum named Dog thru his various misadventures.

Thanks lsteinb,
You know in both Holding Lies and Northwest of Normal, he mentions so many differnt books that I should have wrote them all down. There was one in particular that he gave to (Danny---I think) while he was in jail. Does anyone remember the name of that book?
I have to check out the ones you recommended.

the book given to Danny in jail is Ted Leeson's "The Habit of Rivers" ... and a fine choice
