i just got a Rio Windcutter 8/9/10 spey interchangeable line. i normally use a whipped loop in the ends of my fly lines, and that works good for me. ive had braided loops fail on me. will a whipped loop work for the sink tips or should i consider something else. im just want to make sure i dont screw this line up. thanks, mark

a whipped loop will work, but the interchangeable Rio tips come with nice loops that are not mere braided add on loops. A whipped loop is also much larger and clunkier through the guides. your choice....
but for sure I can tell you that if you've had braided loops fail, its probably because you were using inferior store bought loops. The serious bluewater anglers use braided loops with great success. I build my own according to their specs, and they're strong enough to lift the vat of peanut oil at Doug's Fish Fry
MarkNY, If you want to find out more about the mono loops as discribed by loco_alto look here: http://www.danblanton.com/gettinglooped.html
