I realize that this book has come up in previous discussions, though not in the Book Reviews section, but I wanted to revisit it. I purchased a copy of the book from a shop in the PNW a couple of weeks ago, and was immediately impressed by the quality of the book, in general. To say that it's a work of art is not an understatement, and that's not even with regards to the content, which is spectacular. Clear photographs, SBS instruction for representative patterns, an artistic presentation, and brief anecdotal notes for each pattern about conditions of greatest effectiveness for each patter are included; it took me two sessions to flip through this book because I was dazed after looking through the first half. I have ~6 linear feet of space on my book shelf dedicated to fly tying books, some extremely old and many modern, but I can't think of one that is similar to this book. $80, yes, but to me it was worth it. Lastly, I was fortunate to have received an autographed copy; I realize that there may be many of these "floating around", but it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless. If you get a chance to look at this book in a local shop, take a few moments to do so.
