I would appreciate it if any of you with experience on the river would recommend fly patterns and, more importantly, hook sizes to use at that time of year. I will be fishing the Glenn Emma section. Thanks in advance for your help.</DIV></FONT></TD></TR></TABLE>

If you are fishing Glen Emma, you already know you'll have guide + canoe
Go to
<A target=_top href="http://www.quebectel.com/saumonquebec/anglais/index.htm">http://www.quebectel.com/saumonquebec/anglais/index.htm</A>
and go to rivers then Bas St Laurent then click on Matapedia then click on flies recommended.if i was going I'd try Black doses in # 4 to 8 Green Stonefly in #6(doubles are better) # 2 in singles.Maybe some Rusty Rats and Green highlander especially the Gaspey Highlander >Spey flies work good if water is high or med high. For dries use Bombers ,Bombers and Bombers ,concentrating on # 2s.Tie them scruffy not neat and tidy a la "shop" versions Use LOTS of hackle ,and for wings USE calve tail.Tie some smaller dries in case the Salmon only play around with the #2s or show and continously refuse to take.If it happens(rare0 that you and your guide DON'T get along on the first AM ask for someone else and don't F--- up the rest of the trip.If you are spey casting frop by the pool @ Routhierville. The cabins here are OK to stay at and are close to Glen Emma. Also ask there if Jim Rusher is at his house on the other side of the covered bridge.Jim is a Spey caster par excellellenc.Ask him to show you his 22 oz Mo.Noel Spey reel !!!!!!Just down the road from the main ZEC office in Causapscal is a pretty good FF store in the old train station if you don't tye your own.
Good luck Brian</DIV></FONT></TD></TR></TABLE>
