Interested in reviews and opinions on this book from those of you who have read it and routinely fish the GL tribs for salmonids.

are you talking about the book by Karl Weiximann??
The reviews on Amazon were pretty good. You can also look at quite a few pages inside the book on the Amazon site.
I just ordered it from them for $19.77 (paperback)

Howdy,
Yes, it is indeed the Weixlmann book I was asking about. I know it's not expensive, and I did read the reviews, but there are a number of books written on the subject of GL steelheading and I wanted to know if someone could actually recommend the book based on having read it and fished the GL region.

I've read Weixlmann's book and its good. It covers all types of fishing techniques and "great lakes" patterns. The book i would recommend over it would be John Nagy's Steelhead Guide. Like Weixlmann's book, it isn't a guide to specifically spey fishing the GLs, it covers nymphs, streamers, egg patterns, and some info on tubes. It also has a lot of information on the history of the steelhead fishery in the great lakes which i found interesting. Just my 2¢.

Thanks Turkish; that's the sort of info I was looking for. I'll have a look at that one.
